So, fine, I took it out of the mix and I returned the adapter. However, given the choice to have VM support or a 2nd external monitor, I had no choice but to buckle and choose VMware over the adapter. As long as I was not trying to run a VM with Fusion, the external USB to DVI adapter worked great. I had no other problems with this setup besides VMware fusion. I noticed that when I added the USB to DVI adapter to the mix along with the latest DisplayLink drivers (this is back when I was running VMware Fusion 3.0), it would work, but not very reliably and it would crash my Win7 圆4 VM or cause other weird problems way too much. To do so, I purchased a USB to DVI DisplayLink solution by Diamond (since the MBP only has a single mini-DisplayPort port) in order to be able to control the 2nd external monitor. I want to be able run both of them with this software/hardware setup. I have two beautiful external LCD monitors on my desk. I have a 15" MacBook Pro (Aluminum Unibody 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/ 4GB of RAM with black backlit keyboard) running VMware Fusion 3.1 and Windows 7 圆4 as a guest OS in Unity Mode. I have indeed searched them in addition to Google and I can not find a straight answer. Forgive me if this is clear somewhere in the communities.
